Perhaps Shakespeare’s most troubling piece, Taming of the Shrew has always been
the enigma in his repertoire. How did such a student and admirer of mankind end
up writing such a bitter and jaded play?

Flaming of the Shrew is a re-consideration of an old story. Set in present day New
Orleans in the Mardi Gras shop of the Krewe De Vieux, Flaming is the story of an
unconventional family trying to make its way in a fragile world.

The all male cast is a throwback to traditional Shakespeare, but the non-traditional
interpretation lends itself to an exciting new play and a completely different story.
"Very clever and inventive.... a refreshing reconsideration of one of Shakespeare’s earliest and controversial comedies." - Philip Doyle, Mile High Gay Guy, December 5, 2011
